Ceylan Chen
Ceylan is a Grade 10 student at University Hill secondary. He is motivated to help others, especially those in need. He is always focused and treats the tasks at hand with the attention they deserve. In his free time, Ceylan likes to participate in his local drama program, having taken a leading role in the production of several performances. He also likes programming and is currently learning Java and soon, Python. Most of all, he is excited to bring nowYouth to Vancouver and build connections!
Kaibo Zhang
Kaibo Zhang is a Grade 10 student in University Hill Secondary School. As a high school student who has a wide range of hobbies, He enjoys playing guitar, fencing, badminton, and reading. He is also interested in psychology and math. Moreover, he wants to make contributions to make his community a better place, willing to help people who may have difficulties and build good relationships with everybody he meets.
Ian Li
Ian is a Grade 10 student at University Hill Secondary. He has varied amount of interests, with achievements in athletics and music, also coaching his school’s junior volleyball team. As well, he enjoys playing the violin and the guitar and has performed in dozens of concerts. He is an outgoing student who enjoys socializing with others and loves to serve his community with all he has.
Crystal Peng
Crystal is a high school student who loves to read, listen to, and tell stories. As an immigrant to Canada herself, she has a range of experiences with and much experience in the field of helping new students who are also experiencing difficulties adjusting to a new home. In her free time she likes to write creatively, play piano, read, and knit. If the weather’s nice, you can also find her outside in her garden! After moving to Canada, she found that sometimes it’s easy to completely abandon your heritage to blend in, but she thinks it’s important to protect and exercise both parts of her identity, the old and new. She loves to work with people, and in the past she has had experience volunteering with the youth community.
